Pharmacists As Frontline COVID-19 Responders

Pharmacists As Frontline COVID-19 Responders

Pharmacists As Frontline COVID-19 Responders

You may be wondering why pharmacists should be involved, if at all in the COVID-19 response. It makes sense, we’re not often thought of in the whole healthcare landscape and that’s ok.

Think of us as the offensive line in football. When we do our job, nobody knows were there. But when we don’t pull our weight, it makes it almost impossible for anyone else to do their jobs effectively.

This is why PHARMACISTS AS FRONT-LINE RESPONDERS FOR COVID-19 PATIENT CARE is so important – it allow us pharmacists to do what we can do best – help the response to COVID by keeping people out of the hospital.

By supporting these needed, let’s call them, upgrades to what pharmacists can do, we can offload responsibilities from our nursing and physician colleagues so they can do their job better.

We’re going to beat this because we’re living in the best country in the world. By all of us doing our jobs to the maximum of our abilities, that’s how we can contribute to this fight.

This includes not only meeting the needs of COVID-19 patients, but also caring for their ongoing medical needs – diabetes management, high-blood pressure, heart failure, and asthma just to name a few.
